The successful candidate will work on a PhD project focused on quantifying the national and regional distribution effects of private and public adaptation actions, with a specific emphasis on climate physical risks and socio-economic implications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply advanced statistical models to analyze the effectiveness of climate finance mechanisms in supporting adaptation and mitigating climate risks.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of socio-economic and climate scenarios to understand regional vulnerabilities and resilience.
- Investigate the role of private adaptation actions and climate finance in enhancing economic stability and growth.
- Collaborate with the Policy Analysis Section and the Delft Climate Action Program to integrate research findings into policy-oriented applications.
- MSc degree in Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., R, Python, Julia).
- Experience with statistical data analysis and modeling software (e.g., GAMS, STATA).
- Domain knowledge in climate policy or damage/risk assessment is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
