PhD Position in Quantifying Geological and Technical Uncertainties in Geothermal Exploration

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at TU Delft, focusing on developing new methods to quantify geological and technical uncertainties in geothermal exploration and appraisal. The successful candidate will work on simulating heat and fluid flow for ensembles of reservoir models, supporting data collection for geothermal systems, and performing probabilistic techno-economic assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply new methods to quantify geological and technical uncertainties in geothermal exploration and appraisal
- Simulate heat and fluid flow for ensembles of reservoir models
- Support data collection for geothermal systems
- Perform probabilistic techno-economic assessments
- Master's degree in applied geology, hydrogeology, or (geothermal) reservoir engineering
- Experience in integrating geoscience with fluid flow modeling or knowledge in simulating heat and fluid flow processes in geological formations
- Programming experience (e.g., Python, Matlab)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- 4-year PhD position with a competitive salary and benefits
