Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at TU Delft. The successful candidate will work on a project focused on developing and applying new methods to quantify geological, technical, and economic uncertainties in geothermal exploration and appraisal.

Research Objectives

The PhD project aims to develop and test new workflows and techniques for quantifying uncertainties in geothermal systems. The candidate will work on simulating heat and fluid flow for ensembles of reservoir models, collecting and refining geological data, and performing probabilistic techno-economic assessments.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you should hold a relevant MSc degree in applied geology, hydrogeology, or (geothermal) reservoir engineering. Experience in integrating geoscience with fluid flow modeling or knowledge in simulating heat and fluid flow processes in fractured geological formations is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this highly interdisciplinary and international research project.

What We Offer

As a PhD candidate at TU Delft, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative research environment. You will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and you will be supervised by experienced researchers in the field. The PhD position comes with a competitive salary and benefits package, including a monthly work costs contribution and a customizable compensation package.
