About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled NPD Sustainability Manager to join our Innovation team at Rituals. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable packaging practices and ensuring our New Product Development teams use the most environmentally friendly packaging possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create design principles for packaging that prioritize sustainability and minimize environmental impact.
  • Develop a one-way-of-working for New Product Development Managers and Category Managers to ensure sustainable packaging practices are integrated into the product development process.
  • Conduct ongoing research and development of sustainable packaging solutions to stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, technical experts, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a liaison between our sustainability team and New Product Development teams to ensure alignment with our sustainability goals.
  • Support Category Managers and NPD teams in strategic decision-making on packaging and ingredients to meet our Net-Zero and circularity goals.
  • Participate in the environmental committee and report progress on product sustainability to the ESG Committee and Head of Sustainability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or R&D.
  • 6-8 years of experience in R&D/FMCG and fast-paced environments, with a focus on packaging development and sustainability.
  • Experience with various packaging materials, substrates, production technologies, and sustainability legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven project management experience and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and relevant software for data and project management.
