ASML is at the forefront of developing advanced platforms for high-end customers. Our Design and Engineering department plays a crucial role in ensuring the production of next-generation chips in a cost-effective manner.
The D&E EUV Transmissive Image Sensor (TIS) group is dedicated to a specific function within our machinery. Our primary task involves the precise alignment of the Reticle (object) and the Wafer (image) with sub-nanometer accuracy. Utilizing a sensor diode alongside a pattern design, we identify the Aerial Image location, guiding the machine on where to direct light onto the wafer, enabling high-accuracy printing.
Additionally, TIS is responsible for pellicle detection. The pellicle serves as a protective membrane in front of the reticle, safeguarding it from contamination that could compromise its integrity.
Your Assignment
This internship will focus on the functionality of the Pellicle Detection Rupture System (PDRS), rather than the alignment aspects of TIS.
The objectives of this assignment include:
- Developing an emulation model to replicate PDRS measurement methodologies.
- Validating the model with actual machine data from ASML's latest machines.
- Upon successful validation, exploring the operational ranges where PDRS can be supported by TIS.
- Providing thorough documentation of your preliminary findings.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate for this internship will possess:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in coding, ideally with experience in MATLAB and Python.
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming, capable of conducting simulations, analyses, and data visualizations.
- Strong knowledge in statistics, optics, and data processing.
- Understanding of material science and sensor architecture is advantageous.
- A proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a curious mindset.
Additional Requirements
- This internship can be combined with a graduation project and requires a commitment of at least 6 months.
- Full-time availability for 40 hours per week is expected.
- Candidates must be enrolled in a higher education institution throughout the internship duration.
- Applicants should be located in the Netherlands for the internship.
