Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrographic Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Teledyne CARIS. As a technical expert in hydrographic data processing, digital terrain modeling, and bathymetric data management, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, providing support and training on our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support to customers via email, phone, and online resources.
  • Develop and deliver software training sessions in the office and at client sites.
  • Build strong relationships with existing clients and analyze their systems and issues to identify technical problems and provide integrated solutions.
  • Document workflows, operating procedures, and technical notes for customers.
  • Potentially participate in marketing and sales activities, including attending international conferences and exhibitions.
  • Provide expert consultancy services once fully experienced in the role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, proven working experience in hydrographic surveys.
  • Experience with scripting languages, with Python being a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is considered an asset.
  • Confidence in public speaking and ability to deliver in-depth training events.
  • Fluency in English, with a second language being an asset.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25-30%).
  • Strong social, inter-cultural, communicative, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and working experience with hydrographic processing software, especially using the CARIS line of products.
  • Experience with and knowledge of bathymetric LiDAR systems.
  • Knowledge and working experience with RDBMS packages (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
  • Affinity with RESTful API, SQL, and JSON.
