About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Damen Naval.

Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and managing risk identification, analysis, and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will play a critical part in cultivating a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead risk identification workshops with stakeholders to assess risks, their implications, likelihood, and ownership across various project stages.
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, focusing on impact and probability to prioritize critical risks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive risk register, ensuring compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
  • Manage interdependent risks across project layers and break them down into manageable levels.
  • Support risk owners in selecting, implementing, and validating mitigation measures.
  • Track and follow up on risk mitigation actions and ensure continuous progress.
  • Monitor evolving project risks and emerging threats and present regular risk updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage risks associated with suppliers, vendors, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Facilitate the documentation and sharing of lessons learned to refine future risk management strategies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in risk coordination, ideally within the manufacturing or naval shipbuilding industry.
  • Familiarity with risk identification and severity assessment in line with ISO 31000 standards.
  • Strong influencing skills to foster collaboration and alignment across disciplines.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering principles (V-Model) and techniques (MBSE) in manufacturing, particularly within naval shipbuilding.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical domain (Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding) or Technical Business Administration.
  • Proficiency in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
