Overview:

The field of genomic surveillance for infectious diseases has significantly transformed public health by providing insights into pathogen transmission, evolution, and source identification. Nevertheless, there remains considerable potential to enhance the application of this data to understand the genetic determinants of pathogen success and virulence, as well as to conduct predictive analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting advanced phylogenetic, phylodynamic, and pan-genomic analyses.
  • Creating and validating machine learning algorithms for predicting the spread of antimicrobial resistance.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in bioinformatics or related computational disciplines.
  • Proficient in analyzing extensive microbial genomic datasets and developing machine learning models.
  • Preferred: Experience in metagenomics.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills and adaptability to changing environments.
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Benefits:
