This is where your expertise comes into play: to aid in the design and engineering that elevate our capabilities and boost the efficiency of some of the world's most sophisticated offshore equipment.

Your Responsibilities

Within the Innovations division, the Structural, Mechanical, and Geotechnical department is tasked with delivering engineered solutions to sustain and improve Allseas' fleet and its apparatus. You will become part of a multi-disciplinary mechanical team concentrating on mechanical-hydraulic systems. The team focuses on optimizing current mechanical equipment integrated with hydraulic systems for propulsion and control, as well as developing new hydraulic solutions. Projects may include winches, launch and recovery systems, skidding systems, pipelay equipment, and track drives. Each project presents unique capabilities that challenge the limits of technology.

You will maintain an overview of ongoing projects and their priorities, engaging regularly with work package lead engineers and other stakeholders to ensure effective planning and task distribution. Your role will involve gathering requirements, performing detailed analyses, simulations, and testing to validate designs, ensuring compliance with performance, quality standards, and safety regulations. You will organize and lead design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving initiatives. Collaborating with your team, you will also oversee the work of System Integrators.

Qualifications

We seek a candidate who is enthusiastic about the intersection of mechanical, hydraulic, and control system engineering. You possess a solid understanding of what is required to develop mechanical drive systems. You are solution-oriented, resourceful, and capable of working independently while taking ownership of your responsibilities. You have the capacity to grasp concepts and technical details of complex systems and thrive in a dynamic, creative environment.

In addition, you should have:

A BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Several years of relevant experience in the offshore sector, including time in a lead (project) engineer, senior mechanical engineer, or senior hydraulics engineer role. Proven expertise in mechanical and hydraulic system engineering, with an awareness of other engineering disciplines such as electrical, functional safety, and control & automation. Experience across various project phases, from conceptualization to commissioning onboard vessels. Affinity and/or experience with 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor). Familiarity with Hydrosym is advantageous. Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken. Willingness to work offshore occasionally, depending on project requirements.
