Postdoctoral Researcher in Solar Energy Decarbonization

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Eindhoven University of Technology. The successful candidate will work on a project focused on decarbonizing heating and cooling in urban areas through the development of integrated solutions for energy harvesting, energy storage, and energy savings.
The project will combine expertise on solar technologies and sustainable buildings using an integrated design-driven research approach. The researcher will work between the Building Performance group of the Department of the Built Environment and the Energy Technology group of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Architectural Engineering, Sustainable Energy Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable domain. They will have demonstrable experience in energy simulation, scripting, and data analysis, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.
The researcher will be responsible for modeling 3D solar irradiance distribution in the built environment, conducting feasibility studies on various solar energy technologies, storage technologies, and heating/cooling technologies, developing conceptual system designs, and prototyping and explorative testing of selected systems.
Requirements- PhD in a relevant field

- Full-time employment for 21 months
- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 10
