About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Consultant to join our team at American Express Global Business Travel. As a Travel Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional travel service experiences for our corporate business customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with online and offline bookings, modifications, cancellations, and complex bookings via phone, chat, or email.
  • Act as the point of sale for domestic and international travel requirements, arranging routine and complex travel for air, rail, car, and hotel accommodations.
  • Provide advice, solutions, and recommendations, and proactively offer additional services to travelers, ensuring compliance with customer travel policies and requirements.
  • Apply recommendations for managing calls, emails, and chats to ensure complete customer satisfaction and maintain excellent relationships.
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, including mandatory training, compliance, and sanctions.
  • Meet expectations for individual and shared team goals and achieve all company KPIs.
  • Operate in a multi-channel service environment, responsible for key performance indicators of success, such as customer satisfaction (CSAT), key productivity metrics, and call/email handling time.
  • Follow established organizational procedures while respecting schedules for various tasks.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor junior colleagues in the team, as needed.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and energy within the organization, acting according to company ethics, values, and compliance guidelines.
Requirements
  • Possess a passion for customer service excellence and the ability to research and resolve customer service and traveler issues independently.
  • Exhibit excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Have experience working in a high-touch service environment where performance is measured.
  • Be detail-oriented, with the ability to act with integrity and deal sensitively with personal and confidential traveler information.
  • Possess problem-solving skills, with a process improvement mindset.
  • Be able to work under pressure, with a sense of urgency, while maintaining a professional rapport and multi-tasking.
  • Have learning agility and the ability to act on constructive feedback.
  • Have knowledge and experience in air, rail, hotel, and car booking, with a strong understanding of travel trends and industry best practices.
  • Be able to calculate and process exchanges.
  • Have a high proficiency in GDS Amadeus.
