We are seeking highly motivated master students in the fields of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical fields to participate in cutting-edge research projects at ASML.
As a research assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team of engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions for the semiconductor industry.
- Conduct independent research and contribute to the development of new mathematical models and algorithms.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Present your research findings and contribute to the development of technical reports and publications.

Our research team is focused on developing new mathematical models and algorithms to improve the performance and accuracy of our lithography machines. We are looking for talented researchers who can contribute to this effort and help us push the boundaries of what is possible.
Your AssignmentWe have two available research projects that match the skills and interests of master students in the fields of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical fields.
Assignment 1: Repeated Pattern Recognition and RemovalThis project involves developing new methods for recognizing and removing repeated patterns in wafer maps. You will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team of engineers and researchers to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
Assignment 2: Constrained Continuous WafermapThis project involves developing new mathematical models and algorithms to constrain the components of a continuous wafermap while minimizing the impact on computation cost. You will have the opportunity to work with our experienced team of engineers and researchers to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
Your ProfileWe are looking for talented researchers who have the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Experience with MATLAB, image processing, algorithm development, signal processing, mathematical optimization techniques, and data analysis.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbally.
We offer a competitive internship allowance of maximum €600 per month, as well as the opportunity to work with our experienced team of engineers and researchers. You will also have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and inclusive work environment.
