The Asia Global Institute (AGI) at the University of Hong Kong is seeking an exceptional individual to join its team as a Strategic Policy Research Director.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading AGI's policy research work, developing and co-ordinating its research agenda in areas such as new globalization, sustainable development, and digital economies. This includes:

  • Overseeing AGI's policy research team in developing research concepts, policy questions, and workplans;
  • Conducting high-quality policy research independently and collaboratively with external experts;
  • Planning and organizing policy research conferences, workshops, public lectures, and events;
  • Leading internal and external researchers' work to produce white papers and other research outputs;
  • Mentoring AsiaGlobal Fellows on public policies and best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Ph.D. degree or postgraduate degree in a relevant field, with at least five years of relevant working experience. They should also possess strong leadership and project management skills, a proven track record of publishing academic journals and policy-related publications, and proficiency in English language skills. Experience with programming languages like Stata and R, as well as manipulating large datasets, would be an asset.
