We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commis Chef/Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team at Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in preparing and presenting exquisite dishes that delight our guests.



Job Summary


This exciting opportunity involves assisting our experienced chefs in all aspects of food preparation, from mise-en-place to plating. You will work closely with our team to create visually stunning dishes that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.



Key Responsibilities



  • Assist senior chefs with food preparation, including chopping, dicing, and sautéing ingredients
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  • Support the production of high-quality dishes, adhering to HACCP guidelines
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service during peak hours
  • Participate in menu planning and development, suggesting new ideas and techniques


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you should have:



  • A minimum of 1 year experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a fine dining environment
  • A diploma in food production or equivalent on-the-job training
  • Excellent knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and its flavor profiles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • An international mindset and flexibility to adapt to changing situations
  • Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit
