Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Systems Engineer to join our team at IMEC Inc. in Eindhoven. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing, simulating, and implementing wireless communication systems for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement wireless communication systems for different applications, including low/high data rate, localization, and vital sign detection.
  • Implement radio models for wireless communication and radar systems, and RF/circuit impairments.
  • Develop system models and investigate algorithms for performance enhancements, design, and validation.
  • Define control procedures for physical layer hardware modules to achieve robust and optimal performance.
  • Bring up, test, characterize, and optimize real silicon in lab.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to understand and define system-level requirements.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for wireless systems, including architecture development, specification, design, evaluation, and demonstration.
Requirements:
  • MSc or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in designing and simulating the physical layer of wireless communication systems.
  • Strong knowledge of communication theory, filter design, and signal processing algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization.
  • Experience with system, modem, and microprocessor architecture, hardware, and software control.
  • Experience with system verification, including verification plan definition, methodologies, execution, and tracking.
