Position Overview:

The Scientist I, Research role at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves a range of responsibilities that contribute to the advancement of analytical development. The successful candidate will:

  • Act as a representative of the Analytical Development (AD) team in various projects, influencing timelines, execution, and strategic direction of AD-related initiatives.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely completion of sample testing activities.
  • Engage collaboratively within the R&D matrix organization, interacting with multiple departments to foster teamwork.
  • Conduct method assessment and establishment tasks alongside senior scientists.
  • Formulate scientific strategies aimed at characterizing product quality, safety, and efficacy.
  • Deliver presentations and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making, ensuring the production of high-quality products.
  • Coordinate with internal scientific, analytical, and laboratory teams to streamline processes.
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations in the execution of duties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to perform laboratory activities related to development, validation, and transfers.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related physical science is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, ideally in a development capacity.
  • Proficiency in various analytical techniques, including (U)HPLC.
  • A strong enthusiasm for scientific methodology and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with analytical method development and validation processes.
  • Capability to lead and contribute to projects of moderate complexity.
  • Excellent goal-setting, prioritization, and time management abilities.
  • A collaborative spirit, with a readiness to tackle challenges in product development.
