About the Role

The Cost Specialist is a key member of the CRE team, responsible for developing and maintaining cost engineering databases, processes, and tools. This role requires a strong understanding of cost estimation, project control, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cost databases and tools to support project control and financial management
  • Collaborate with project teams to implement cost estimation and control methods
  • Assess and advise on cost estimates received from contractors and engineering firms
  • Support the CRE project manager and procurement manager in defining RFQs and negotiations with contractors
  • Prepare milestone schedules and budget estimates
  • Conduct cost risk analyses, benchmarking, and cost reduction exercises
  • Monitor leading indicators and trends to provide early warning of opportunities and threats to project managers and directors
  • Liaise with CRE project controllers for financial reporting
  • Coordinate the hiring of external cost consultants as needed
  • Monitor and maintain overall monthly project cost reports and forecasts in close cooperation with the CRE project controller
  • Maintain schedule oversight on different programs within CRE, understanding and tracking interconnecting milestones and constraints
  • Support the implementation of target value delivery during estimation phases
  • Support project financial close-out requirements, including asset definition and valuation
  • Value engineering and value management
  • Affinity or knowledge with both civil and utilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering discipline (with Business Administration a plus)
  • A minimum of five years' project engineering experience with both client and engineering design organizations
  • A minimum of at least seven years' experience in cost estimating
  • Preferable experience with facilities for high-tech industries
  • Experience balancing and organizing multiple projects or assignments
  • Strong IT and data skills, including MS Project and Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of progress measurement methods and understanding of earned value systems
  • Open mindset and willingness to do more with data
  • Ability to present technical information in simple, non-technical terms
  • Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude
  • A self-starter

No direct reports

Interfaces: CRE management, CRE Project and Program Managers, CRE Competence Specialists, ASML Procurement, Contractors, ASML stakeholders
