About the Role

As a Category Manager Vegetables at AgriFoodMatch, you will play a crucial role in building partnerships with farmers within Belgium and abroad. Your primary objective will be to source high-quality vegetables while ensuring the company's commercial margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with farmers to secure a stable supply of vegetables.
  • Identify and select new farmers based on quality and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and purchase prices with farmers, working closely with the Account Manager to ensure commercial margins.
  • Oversee the operational management of stock levels.
  • Develop and implement programs for continuous supply of vegetables to customers within the Belgian retail sector.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends, innovations, and market developments within the vegetable category.
  • Report to the Sourcing Lead Vegetables.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as agricultural engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in purchasing, sales, or supply chain management.
  • Strong affinity with vegetable cultivation.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, with knowledge of other languages being an asset.
