We are seeking an exceptional candidate to lead our Computer-Aided Drug Design group within the Medicinal Chemistry division at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As Assistant Professor, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced computational techniques to advance our understanding of ligand-protein interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply computational methods for protein structure prediction, molecular dynamics, docking, virtual screening, and machine learning.
- Collaborate with researchers and students to advance our understanding of G-Protein Coupled Receptors and Fragment-Based Drug Discovery.
- Lead the Computer-Aided Drug Design group and contribute to the development of new methodologies and tools.
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to teaching and research activities.
- PhD in Computational Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and applying computational techniques for drug discovery.
- Strong publication record and ability to attract research funding.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A challenging position in a socially engaged organisation.
- A salary of minimum € 4,332.00 (Scale 11) and maximum € 6,737.00 (Scale 12) gross per month.
- A position for at least 1 FTE with a prospect of a permanent contract.
