Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team in the development of optical atomic clocks. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and building a highly reliable optical lattice clock, as well as creating continuously operating optical clocks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build a highly reliable optical lattice clock
  • Develop continuously operating optical clocks
  • Collaborate with the QDNL team to achieve project goals
  • Contribute to the distribution of the frequency reference of the clock through fibre links

Requirements

  • PhD in experimental ultracold atom or trapped ion physics
  • Good command of English
  • Motivation to work with an ambitious and nice team in a challenging research field

Benefits

  • Temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for a period of one year
  • Extension of contract up to 4 years based on performance
  • Competitive salary, ranging from € 3,000 to € 5,000 per month
  • Favourable tax agreement, the '30% ruling', may apply to non-Dutch applicants
