At David Kennedy Recruitment Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Services Representative to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced emergency services environment, providing critical support to individuals in distress. As an Emergency Services Representative, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assessing situations, and sharing information with precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective support to emergency callers, using your strong communication skills to de-escalate situations and provide reassurance.
  • Assess situations quickly and accurately, using your judgment to determine the best course of action.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including emergency services partners and customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, using this knowledge to improve our services and support.

Requirements

  • Native/C1 in Dutch/Flemish, both oral and written, and fluent in English (at least B2+ level) to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
  • Emergency Services/Dispatcher qualification/experience from 6 months onwards is essential.
  • Proven experience in emergency response and/or working in a high-pressure emergency communication center environment would be preferred.
  • Strong assessing skills with the ability to share information with precision and display great attention to detail while handling several communication tools simultaneously.
  • Prior experience working with a CAD (computer-assisted dispatch) application would be considered a strong advantage.
  • Full working proficiency with MS Office is necessary.
  • Sound knowledge of laws, protocols, and compliance within an emergency services environment is preferable.
  • Agility with rotating scheduling, including days, nights, and weekends, as this will be a 24/7 operation with 5 days on and 2 days off per week.
  • Holder of a recent CPR certification can be an advantage.
  • Any prior experience in emergency, fire, or police dispatch will be considered beneficial for this role.
  • An ability to work from home about 10% of the time is required.
