Innovation Director Naval Signatures and Vulnerability

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Innovation Director Naval Signatures and Vulnerability to join our team at Damen Naval. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving technological advancement within our naval shipbuilding division.

About the Role

The successful candidate will spearhead the development and execution of innovative strategies, ensuring seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies. You will collaborate with internal and external specialists to stay updated on emerging signatures and vulnerability technologies and trends.

Key Responsibilities

As the Innovation Director Naval Signatures and Vulnerability, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive innovation strategy, creating roadmaps for naval signatures and vulnerability with clear goals and timelines.
  • Staying updated on emerging signatures and vulnerability technologies and trends and assessing their potential impact on naval products and operations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external technical domain specialists across departments, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional innovation.
  • Providing hands-on technical expertise and insights to the product development team.
  • Facilitating the adoption of new signatures and vulnerability technologies and practices by collaborating closely with relevant teams.
  • Leading and overseeing R&D and innovation projects from initiation to completion, including performance-, budget-, time- and risk management.
  • Establishing and tracking key performance indicators to measure the impact of the innovation initiatives.
  • Advocating for the importance of innovation and technology integration within the naval sector, communicating the benefits of adopting innovative technologies to stakeholders.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation by organizing workshops, brainstorms, and knowledge-sharing events.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master or Bachelor degree in a relevant technical study with at least ten years relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of signatures and vulnerability regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience in the naval signatures and vulnerability R&D- and/or engineering domain(s).
  • Experience in working with dedicated research-related software tools / working practices for signatures & vulnerability.
  • A good command of the English language in written and verbal, and a willingness to learn Dutch.
  • Excellent references and antecedents, as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport.
