About the Project

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Eindhoven University of Technology. The successful candidate will work on the development of predictive human-based in vitro models for drug and biomaterial screening in bone biology and immunology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and advance current in vitro bone models by incorporating immune system components
  • Investigate the scalability of the in vitro bone model towards a model that conforms with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Collaborate with the Smart Biomaterials Consortium (SBMC) to translate the knowledge into predictive human-based in vitro models
  • Conduct research in bone biology and immunology, with a focus on translational research

About the Group

You will be part of the Biomaterials Design and Processing and the Orthopedic Biomechanics groups at Eindhoven University of Technology. Our mission is to develop novel treatment strategies for an aging and active population. We combine advanced biomaterials and manufacturing methods with in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo platforms, as well as engineering methods like high-resolution imaging and computational modeling.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Immunology, Biology, Biomedical engineering, Regenerative Medicine or a comparable domain
  • Solid background in bone biology and immunology
  • Strong interest in translational research
  • Experience with bone engineering, in vitro models and biomaterials is preferred
