Marine Technical Advisor

Position Overview

Your primary responsibility is to deliver first-line technical assistance for urgent situations and scheduled services to marine clients and sales teams, remotely.

  • Conduct remote troubleshooting, identifying and analyzing issues.
  • Serve as a technical planner for troubleshooting activities in collaboration with the "Global Marine Coordinator" to refine tasks regarding required skills, tools, spare parts, and work timing. Identify necessary skills, tools, spare parts, and equipment for onboard tasks. Generate service requests.
  • Possess the capability to manage all major products and applications within at least one business unit.
  • Perform quality checks on reports and documentation for all completed service tasks.
  • Utilize a global planning and case management tool (Microsoft CRM) for all potential tasks.
  • Facilitate handover to the Global Marine Coordinator.
  • Provide training to local Field Service Engineers (FSE). Act as a regional conduit for knowledge and skill transfer from Central Business Unit technical specialists to local service centers as needed.
  • Assist in claims management.

Additionally, you possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marine studies (or equivalent).
  • Experience within the maritime industry.
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach to remote support.
  • The ability to maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to providing feedback from troubleshooting cases and onboard visits within the organization.
  • A support role for service engineers performing various onboard tasks.
  • Proficiency in English, as the role requires communication in this language.
