The Advanced Laser Technology Centre of ASMPT Group, known as ASMPT ALSI, specializes in the design, construction, and sale of machines utilizing proprietary multi-beam laser cutting technology for semiconductor wafer dicing and low-K wafer grooving.
Position Overview
In the role of Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial part in enhancing and developing ALSI's laser dicing system, specifically the LASER1205. Your responsibilities will encompass the electrical design of systems, which includes laser systems, optical modules, mechatronic components, and planar motion stages. Collaborating closely with mechanical and software engineers, you will create electrical designs that align with specified requirements. Additionally, you will engage in the prototyping and testing phases, contributing to the effective implementation of solutions for our clients. This position is based in our R&D center.
Qualifications and Skills
- A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant professional experience is essential.
- Proficiency in E-Plan electrical design tools is necessary (experience with Siemens Team Center is advantageous).
- A strong inclination towards innovation, flexibility, and customer satisfaction is expected.
- A results-oriented mindset coupled with excellent communication skills is crucial.
- Familiarity with the design of electrical and electromechanical systems is required.
- Experience in electrical/electromechanical systems and drive mechanisms, particularly in the semiconductor sector, is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think conceptually and pragmatically are essential.
- Capability to organize personal work and that of others is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in defining electrical system requirements while considering mechanical design, serviceability, manufacturability, relevant standards (SEMI, NFPA, CE), environmental conditions, and design guidelines for laser separation systems.
- Develop electrical designs in E-Plan based on established system requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on human safety, machine safety, and environmental compliance (e.g., ESD, EMC).
- Review and ensure the quality of Technical Production Documentation and other related documents.
- Support the prototyping and testing phases of projects.
- Provide advanced support for customers and production facilities.
- Collaborate with and offer technical assistance to internal departments such as process engineering, manufacturing, and service.
- Report directly to the Systems Engineering Manager.
