Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist

We are DS Smith, a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, and we are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join our Heavy Duty cluster in Tilburg.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a culture of continuous improvement and ensure all employees are engaged in this process.
  • Coach and advise employees on health and safety matters.
  • Support the local management team in developing the annual HSSER plan and ensure regular monitoring and review of progress.
  • Provide technical training on health, safety, sustainability, environment, and risk management.
  • Manage the internal and external audit schedule and ensure employee involvement in this process.
  • Lead the maintenance of technical Risk and Opportunity Registers (RI&E's) and facilitate audits.
Requirements:
  • HBO degree in a relevant field, preferably in Integrated Safety Science, Higher Safety Science, or a similar field. Alternatively, MBO degree with extensive practical experience.
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in risk analysis.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to develop and train management and employees to drive change.
  • High problem-solving skills and ability to influence at various levels through open communication.
