Role Description

At Booking.com, we're driven by data and innovation. As a Data & AI Governance Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping our data-driven decisions. This is a senior leadership position that requires a deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy that aligns with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data management solutions, including metadata management and data quality initiatives.
  • Lead the development of data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate data governance risks, ensuring seamless data flow and minimizing disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain data catalogs, ensuring data lineage, classification, and definitions are accurately documented.
  • Collaborate with data stewards to design and implement data quality validation strategies, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to develop strategies and standards for monitoring, failure detection, and data availability, ensuring data timeliness and completeness.
  • Lead proactive and reactive resolution of data governance and compliance issues, reporting key KPIs to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in data governance, metadata management, and data quality, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Expert knowledge of data governance frameworks, including GDPR, DMA, and EU AI Act.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex data governance concepts to stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading teams, including managing managers, and driving organizational change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate data governance risks.
