About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Duty Management Trainee to join our team at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Amsterdam Airport, Schiphol. As a key member of our operations team, you will assist and support the Managers on Duty at the Front Office, in Housekeeping, F&B and Kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operational departments where needed
  • Give tours in the hotel
  • Welcome VIPs and escort them to their rooms
  • Correctly and hospitably address guests, as well as answer questions and give information about various subjects
  • Know sights or important cities in the direct surroundings
  • Take appropriate actions to solve guests' complaints
  • Check public areas on tidiness and safety
  • Do spot-checks on the quality of tidiness in rooms and report this, by letter to the Executive Housekeeper
  • Address guests and give information to guests
  • Support departmental plans and objectives, where hotel initiatives & targets are achieved
  • Write reports involving security-related incidents and guest or employee accidents.
  • Carry out own projects related to the improvement of the operational departments, in consultation with the General Manager
  • Be aware of all Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B and kitchen procedures and know how to act upon these procedures
  • Contribute in improving the operation of the departments by giving suggestions concerning the processes and procedures to the Head of Department
  • Lead, manage, support and coach receptionists, Front Office Trainees, F&B All-rounders and Room Attendants.
Requirements
  • Follows a hotel school study at HBO level
  • Has experience in the hospitality industry and has general knowledge of the activities within the different departments
  • Dominates the English language, spoken and written. Knowledge of a second language will be seen as a plus
  • Can work independently as well as in a team
  • Is a self-starter, guest-oriented, organized, stress-resistant, flexible, solution-oriented and proactive.
