Operational Excellence Specialist

Your Role in Our Success

As an Operational Excellence Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Perfetti Performance Excellence (PPE) initiative across our manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands. Your focus will be on enhancing product efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity while minimizing waste. This position is essential in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the Perfetti van Melle BLX (Benelux) Supply Chain organization, which encompasses Manufacturing, Process & Technology, and Supply Chain operations. You will recommend improvement strategies and lead continuous improvement projects, resulting in optimized processes, enhanced standards, and increased employee satisfaction and financial performance aligned with the PPE methodology. The Continuous Improvement team is responsible for the entire BLX Supply Chain organization, with an initial emphasis on manufacturing operations. You will report directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager, with activities centered in the South of Holland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PPE initiative for PVM BLX;
  • Define and plan the objectives, scope, and deliverables for the Weert PPE initiatives;
  • Oversee the Weert PPE initiatives portfolio, ensuring coordination and prioritization based on the implementation plan with a strong focus on delivery and resource allocation;
  • Act as both project lead and improvement team facilitator;
  • Cultivate strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and functions;
  • Propose local initiatives based on stakeholder input and in accordance with PPE guidelines;
  • Foster employee engagement for proactive change management;
  • Share continuous improvement expertise (TPM, Six Sigma, Lean) and mentor employees in applying improvement methodologies;
  • Serve as a key resource for SC BLX regarding continuous improvement;
  • Inspire bottom-up improvements, encouraging creativity on the shop floor, and enhancing manufacturing processes and equipment;
  • Collaborate regularly with local BLX leaders to develop and disseminate best practices for process integration and optimization;
  • Benchmark industry trends and practices, review best practices, and actively gather input from the SC community;
  • Facilitate and implement relevant training programs.

What We Seek:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial or Process Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM, Six Sigma, or Lean.
  • A Continuous Improvement certification at the Green-Belt level is advantageous.
  • Experience in establishing and leading project improvement teams, particularly on the shop floor.
  • A commitment to achieving agreed-upon results with a pragmatic approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a people-oriented mindset.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence decision-making.
  • An independent influencer with a positive attitude to engage teams.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
