We design, manufacture, and support a broad range of high-performance microscopy and spectroscopy workflows on wafers and single chips that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron and ion microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets.

Job Description

The High-Performance Operations Specialist will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure efficient processes and timely delivery of high-quality systems to our customers. You will be responsible for providing technical support to the factory, initiating and leading small-sized multi-functional operations improvement projects, and supporting factory and field service engineers with the first builds, installs, and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules.

  • Providing technical support to the factory to ensure accurate working order of TEM systems
  • Initiating and leading small-sized multi-functional operations improvement projects to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Solving sophisticated problems and ensuring system specifications are met
  • Crafting and maintaining work instructions and defining way of working (factory process flow)

You will also have the opportunity to perform hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and training of personnel as required. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with suppliers to tackle technical/quality issues and support the introduction of new parts and modules from suppliers into manufacturing.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in a technical field such as high-precision Engineering and/or Physics. You should have demonstrable minimum experience of 5 years in the field of Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and/or experience with electron microscopy is highly desirable.

You should also possess mid-level experience in project management and creating related deliverables. Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing) are essential, and Dutch language skills are a plus. A collaborative teammate with a pragmatic approach is what we are looking for.

What We Offer

As a High-Performance Operations Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you can expect a competitive salary of around $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on your level of experience.
