PhD Position Safe Learning for Interconnected Systems

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to work on developing algorithms and techniques for Safe Learning (SL) in Large Interconnected Systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation of AI tools that are safe, robust, and prompt in adapting to environmental and mission changes.

The successful applicant will join a highly active and stimulating research environment, participating in both theoretical and experimental work. The group is part of the Software Technology Department in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS) at TU Delft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test new AI techniques for complex interconnected systems
  • Contribute to the development of Safe Learning algorithms and techniques
  • Participate in theoretical and experimental work

Requirements:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong interest in applied optimization, AI/ML, algorithm design, and communication/computing systems
  • Excellent academic results
  • Very good command of spoken and written English
