Job Description

The TU Delft is seeking a PhD candidate to work on the evaluation of managed re-alignment strategies as nature-based solutions for coastal restoration. This project is part of the NL2120 program, a large program on the upscaling of nature-based solutions.

About the Project

The PhD candidate will work in a motivated and multidisciplinary team of researchers on the most innovative issues with respect to nature-based solutions. The candidate will have access to the NL2120 consortium, a network consisting of 27 partners, including government, NGOs, knowledge institutes, and engineering companies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on managed re-alignment strategies for coastal restoration
  • Develop and apply statistical models to evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies
  • Collaborate with the research team to design and implement field experiments
  • Contribute to the development of policy recommendations for the implementation of nature-based solutions

Requirements

  • Master's degree in ecology, physical geography, or a related field
  • Good statistical skills and basic field work experience
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Dutch
