Job Description

The NL2120 program is a large-scale initiative focused on the upscaling of nature-based solutions. This PhD position explores successful methods for managed re-alignment and salt-marsh restoration along coastlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in a motivated and multidisciplinary team of researchers working on innovative issues related to nature-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with the NL2120 consortium, a network consisting of 27 partners, including government, NGOs, knowledge institutes, and engineering companies.
  • Work on salt marsh restoration through managed re-alignment and functionality of restoration efforts with respect to sedimentation, biodiversity, and carbon capture.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in ecology or physical geography with good statistical skills and basic field work experience.
  • Ability to work with a combination of different methods, such as using earth observation data, modeling, experimental research, and field work.
  • Good communicative and writing skills, with the ability to understand and express yourself in Dutch.

What We Offer
  • A 4-year period of employment in the form of two employment contracts.
  • A salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, increasing from € 2770 per month in the first year to € 3539 in the fourth year.
