Job Description

**Project Overview**

TU Delft is seeking a highly motivated Researcher to join our team in the Department of Engineering Structures. The successful candidate will be part of a research project focused on developing innovative, bonded, wrapped composite joints for offshore wind turbines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct experiments in the lab to characterize and understand the behavior of composite joints under various loading conditions.
  • Collaborate with the research team to plan and execute project activities, including procurement of test specimens and lab equipment.
  • Assist in the development of new monitoring and sensing techniques for structural health monitoring.
  • Contribute to the writing of research papers and reports.

Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical proficiency in research and engineering, with experience in planning and executing technical projects.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with designing testing set-ups and mechanical testing.
  • Ability to promote research and innovation to broader audiences.
  • Fluency in Dutch language.
