Customer Service Ambassador for Luxury Hotel

Hotel Okura Amsterdam is a premier international 5-star hotel, seamlessly blending Eastern and Western influences in its unique mix of Japanese and Dutch culture.

The hotel is seeking an enthusiastic Front Office Receptionist to join its team and provide exceptional guest experiences.

As a key member of the Front Office team, you will be responsible for welcoming guests, handling check-in and check-out procedures, and providing information and services to ensure a seamless stay.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming guests with a friendly and courteous demeanor
  • Efficiently processing check-ins and check-outs according to hotel procedures and standards
  • Registering guests according to hotel procedures
  • Maintaining contact with guests and addressing complaints, requests, and inquiries to deliver high standards
  • Coordinating with Housekeeping and Room service regarding early check-ins, late check-outs, and room changes
  • Staying informed about daily activities, meetings, and events within the hotel
  • Handling internal and external phone calls efficiently and courteously
  • Reporting unusual occurrences and requests to the Front Office Supervisor or Manager
  • Attending shift briefings and monthly departmental meetings

The role requires flexibility, as work is carried out in shifts throughout a 7-day workweek, including evenings. The working hours are 07:00 – 15:00, 11:00 – 19:00, and 15:00 – 23:00, with 5 days per week, 7.6 hours a day.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Able to work in the evening
  • In possession of a Hotelschool diploma
  • Experienced in a similar position within the Front Office (1-2 years)
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of German, French, and Spanish is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Opera system is an advantage
