Nephrology Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced post-doctoral fellow to join our research team in the Division of Nephrology at HKU. The successful candidate will have a strong background in immunology, biochemistry or related fields and be able to contribute to projects that elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of different forms of acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease in translational medicine.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in leading kidney research projects under the supervision of Professor Sydney CW Tang.
- Conduct independent research projects encompassing clinical nephrology and basic science aspects of kidney inflammation and fibrosis.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop and implement advanced biostatistics and software usage techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the research team leader.
- A Ph.D. degree with a strong background in immunology, biochemistry or related fields.
- Experience in advanced biostatistics and software usage is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with high motivation.
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
HKU is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to equality, ethics, inclusivity, diversity and transparency. The estimated salary for this position is $HKD 60,000 - HKD 80,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
