Job Description

The Department of Engineering Structures at TU Delft's Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will contribute to the development of sustainable binders for road infrastructure, focusing on the circular economy and material durability.

Our research aims to address the pressing need for eco-friendly alternatives to traditional road construction materials. You will work closely with our team to design, develop, and test sustainable binders, leveraging molecular dynamics simulations and experimental characterization. Your expertise in materials science, process engineering, or structural engineering will be essential in driving this research forward.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, a proven track record of research experience, and a passion for multidisciplinary collaboration. You will be expected to publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the development of a leading research trajectory in sustainable road materials.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field
  • Research experience in materials science, process engineering, or structural engineering
  • Expertise in molecular dynamics simulations and experimental characterization
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Conditions of Employment

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. TU Delft offers a customizable compensation package, discounts on health insurance, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged.
