Strategic Procurement Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team at PMG Offshore Energy, focusing on the procurement of winches, offloading systems, and hydraulic components.

At Royal IHC, we are committed to designing and constructing high-quality, innovative vessels and equipment tailored for the dredging and offshore energy sectors.

In this role, you will oversee the tactical procurement processes associated with various projects. Your responsibilities will include fostering and managing long-term relationships with suppliers while enhancing their performance. Collaborating with a team of tactical and operational purchasers, you will ensure the effective sourcing and timely delivery of all materials essential for our projects. Additionally, you will work closely with the procurement manager to develop and uphold procurement strategies and procedures.

The supply chain for Offshore Energy projects will have unique requirements, while also aligning with the broader supply chain utilized by IHC for other PMGs. You will serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding all procurement-related matters.
You will report directly to the Manager of Procurement for PMG Offshore Energy.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the main contact within the project for suppliers on all procurement-related aspects. Collaborate on developing a sourcing strategy for specific product categories within PMG Offshore Energy. Assist in enhancing delivery performance for project-specific materials. Engage in the procurement process, including Request for Quotation, Evaluation, Contracting, and Expediting through to execution. Formulate negotiation strategies in partnership with the Procurement Manager. Oversee the technical and commercial execution of project procurement, ensuring compliance with specifications, timelines, and budgets. Develop a performance improvement plan in collaboration with key suppliers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering or economics. A minimum of 3 years of relevant procurement experience in the hydraulic, offshore, marine, or similar industries in a technical or commercial capacity. Technical knowledge of hydraulics is advantageous. Familiarity with procurement processes. Proactive and capable of working independently. Tactical mindset, effective communicator, organized, and willing to take initiative. Proficiency in both Dutch and English. Willingness to travel occasionally.
