Space Technology Coordinator

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to join HE Space as a Space Technology Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and harmonising technology development across the European Space Agency (ESA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Piloting the Technology Harmonisation process at European level, leading to roadmaps agreed by ESA Programmes, Technical Domain leaders, Member States and industry.
  • Providing a secretariat function for the Technology Harmonisation Advisory Group and Technology Advisory Working Group.
  • Supporting the running and evolution of the European Space Technology Harmonisation process.
  • Preparing the European Space Technology Master Plan.
  • Running and evolving ESA wide coordination processes on Space Technology.
  • Managing the Entity Capability Mapping database.
  • Updating the ESA Generic Product Tree and ESA Technology Tree.
  • Maintaining a database of industrial capabilities consistent with harmonisation dossiers and roadmaps.
  • Supporting industrial policies relating to technologies.
  • Interfacing with the EU for technology related matters and coordinating the Agency support to EU technology programmes.
  • Coordinating with the European Commission and European Defence Agency of critical space technologies for European non-dependence.
  • Maintaining the end-to-end process for management of technology development within ESA.
  • Evaluating technology development results.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A background in a wide range of technologies relevant to space as well as experience in space projects and technology development.
  • Familiarity with Technology R&D processes would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Programme/Project management and controlling methods and tools.
  • Autonomy, authority and ability to interface with ESA staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise complex information.
  • Good verbal and written communications.
  • Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks.
  • Proactive attitude to solving problems, identify priority actions and to handle high workload.
  • Familiarity with modern electronics office automation tools Microsoft Office suite).
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, ability to write technical documents in English;
