About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrographic Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Teledyne CARIS. As a key member of our CARIS Team, you will provide technical expertise and support to our customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to customers via email, phone, and online resources.
- Deliver software training in the office and at client sites.
- Build strong relationships with existing clients and analyze their systems and issues.
- Document workflows, operating procedures, and technical notes for customers.
- Potentially participate in marketing and sales activities, including attending international conferences and exhibitions.
- Offer expert consultancy services once fully experienced in the role.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Alternatively, proven working experience in hydrographic surveys.
- Experience with scripting languages, with Python being preferred.
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is considered an asset.
- Confidence in public speaking and ability to deliver in-depth training events.
- Fluency in English, with a second language being an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25-30%).
- Strong social, inter-cultural, communicative, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and working experience with hydrographic processing software, especially using the CARIS line of products.
- Experience with and knowledge of bathymetric LiDAR systems.
- Knowledge and working experience with RDBMS packages (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
- Affinity with RESTful API, SQL, and JSON.
