We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research group at Universiteit Utrecht. The successful candidate will work on developing novel protein sensors and artificial cells to investigate the effects of intracellular crowding on protein behavior.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop advanced protein sensors for measuring intracellular crowding
- Use microfluidics to create artificial cells with controlled crowding conditions
- Analyze sensor data using fluorescence microscopy techniques such as FRET-FLIM
- Collaborate with our team to integrate sensor data into a comprehensive understanding of intracellular crowding
- Master's degree in biochemistry, protein engineering, biophysics, or related sciences
- Strong background in protein chemistry and biophysics
- Experience with microfluidics and fluorescence microscopy techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A 1-year position with the possibility of extension to 4 years
- A gross monthly salary between €2,872 and €3,670
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus
