The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer - Mechanical Systems Specialist to join our Research team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing high-end technological knowledge of new mechanical systems and disseminating it within Damen.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research projects in a team and individually to support the integration and implementation of new technologies;
- Advise our business on exploring new vessel concepts and contribute to future product development;
- Maintain an overview of state-of-the-art technologies and implementation opportunities within Damen;
- Collaborate with knowledge institutes and suppliers to stay up-to-date with the latest developments;
- Verify and validate developed technology on board vessels or in laboratory environments.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology, or equivalent;
- Relevant working experience is considered advantageous but not required;
- Affinity with mechanical systems, time-domain simulation, maritime propulsion systems, and system integration;
- Ability to collaborate with specialists from other fields of expertise;
- Self-organized with a focus on planning and results;
- High level of proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.
