Senior IT Manager in Estates Systems Team

About the Role
The HKU is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager to lead the Estates Systems Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the strategy for the Estate systems and enabling the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Estate systems strategy to support the University's goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage the Estates Systems Team to perform the strategizing, planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and support of the Estate systems project implementation, developments, and enhancements.
- Manage and communicate with vendors to ensure successful implementation and delivery of the projects and related IT components.
- Maintain knowledge of Estate system capabilities and educate collaborators on the benefits of those capabilities.
- Ensure the team performs the Estate system project implementations, developments, and enhancements aligning with all internal and external audit requirements, data privacy laws, and security requirements.
- Lead and drive user discussions and engagement; communicate with different teams, thought leaders, and decision-makers with a high degree of professionalism.
Qualifications and Qualities
The successful candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in IT or related disciplines with at least 10-year relevant experience, including 8-year experience at supervisory level.
- Extensive experience in leading and managing complex IT implementation projects from strategizing, solutioning, planning, design, development, testing to production rollout of business applications, especially in large-scale system implementation.
- Deep understanding of business acumen in estate management and university operations.
- Proven experience in programme/project management, team supervision, business processes re-engineering, and vendor management, while certification in PMP, ITIL, or PRINCE2 is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of IT services and applications, especially knowledge on IBM Tririga, Java development, and Power Platform development is an advantage.
- The ability to manage stakeholders and communicate with people across different functions and levels within an organization with strong presentation skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary.
