Job Description

Introduction

The Electromagnetic Signatures and Propagation Department at Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to work on the development of reconfigurable metasurfaces for Radar Cross Section (RCS) control. This project aims to design and experimentally validate advanced metasurfaces that can manipulate electromagnetic wavefronts and control RCS.

  • Accurate and Efficient Modelling/Design Frameworks
  • Reconfigurability Technology
  • Concept Scalability to Large Surfaces
  • Adaptive Control of Reconfigurable Metasurfaces (Optional)

PhD Execution

The PhD project will be executed in the Electromagnetic Signatures and Propagation Department, in cooperation with the Optics Department of TNO. The PhD student will actively cooperate with TNO staff and be supervised by Prof. Dr. Giampiero Gerini.

Job Requirements

  • Solid background on Electromagnetic Fields, Antennas, and Electromagnetic Modelling
  • Programming in MATLAB and/or Python
  • Expertise with commercial software packages for electromagnetic modelling
  • MSc in Electrical Engineering or Physics

Conditions of Employment

  • Full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate evaluation after nine months
