Financial Group Controller

**Sunweb Group is recruiting for a Financial Group Controller, located in Rotterdam.**

We are seeking a Financial Group Controller with strong financial accounting expertise and in-depth IFRS knowledge to strengthen our Finance Team. You will play a key role in internal and external financial reporting, process improvement and financial governance.

In the role of Financial Group Controller, you will be working on further structuring the accounting and control processes and creating a robust basis for various financial reports such as monthly reporting to the (Supervisory) Board, annual financial statements and tax reporting. The Finance Team has an ambitious agenda and is well positioned in a challenging and dynamic environment close to the daily business operations.

You will report to the Head of Financial Planning & Control. The role requires day to day interaction with the colleagues from the Finance/Treasury/Tax function and you will be in close contact with the Director Finance & Control and the Group CFO.

**Your challenge**

As a Financial Group Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

- Perform closing activities in the monthly financial closing process - The Financial Planning & Control team is responsible for the monthly closing process, during which monthly results are analyzed and reported to the (Supervisory) Board. Improving the efficiency of reporting, while maintaining high standards on accuracy/completeness, is an important focus area.
- Improve and structure the group consolidation process in Netsuite, minimizing manual journal entries.
- Prepare annual financial statements for holding and operating entities, and liaise with external auditors.
- Internal Control - Sunweb Group is taking the next step in strengthening its internal control framework. You will play a key role in this development, with plenty of room to contribute your ideas and expertise.
- Support integration of acquisitions into financial systems and reporting.
- Take on additional projects aligned with your interests and ambitions.

**What you bring**

Based on your recent work experience, you are able to contribute quickly to the team. You are full of energy, eager to learn, and have a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up mentality.
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar, preferably an additional Register Accountant post-master degree or international equivalent.
- At least 5-8 years of progressive and relevant work experience in audit/accounting/controlling within an international setting, with proven exposure to financial operations in the Netherlands or wider EU.
- Ability to quickly analyze financial data and perform checks on accuracy and completeness.
- Takes initiative and is result-oriented: self directed approach to address challenges in financial data and processes.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) with strong business writing skills; basic Dutch is a plus.
- Experience using: Excel, PowerBI, Netsuite (or another ERP system) is a pre.
