A well-established Netherlands-based industrial services and distribution business is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead the organisation through its next phase of development.

The company operates as a distributor and service partner, supplying specialist safety and monitoring products alongside maintenance, servicing and customer support. Following a transition from a founder-led model, the business now requires a hands-on leader to stabilise operations, strengthen internal capability and deliver sustainable growth within a structured group environment.

The role carries full responsibility for the commercial performance, operational stability and leadership of the business, with reporting lines into a wider international group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and stabilise the business, providing hands-on day-to-day leadership, transitioning from a founder-led model to a scalable, well-structured organisation, and building a capable, office-based team with clear accountability
  • Drive commercial performance and customer relationships, maintaining key accounts, supporting sales and service activity, ensuring customer training capability is embedded within the organisation, and identifying sustainable growth opportunities aligned to group strategy
  • Oversee operations and service delivery, ensuring the efficient purchase, supply, maintenance and servicing of products, with full compliance to contractual, regulatory and quality standards
  • Hold full financial and governance responsibility, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and accurate, timely reporting within group governance frameworks
  • Engage effectively with the wider group, collaborating with senior leadership, participating in group initiatives, and representing the business professionally within the organisation

Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role
  • Background in distribution, service-based or technical/industrial environments preferred
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L ownership
  • Experience leading organisational change, recruitment and team development
  • Comfortable operating within a structured group environment while retaining local accountability
