Background information
ASML YieldStar is an optical metrology tool that can quickly and accurately measure the quality of patterns on the wafer.
In the YieldStar Optical Column team we create the software that is needed to create and calibrate the so-called 'sensor' for the optical column. This sensor consists of optics, electronics and cameras. This delicate assembly needs teams of multiple competencies to closely work together to provide best-in-class metrology.
The general thought of Heuristic Diagnosis is that it acts like an antivirus-system on a PC using some ‘Signature database’ or a ‘Heuristic rule set’.
The value of Heuristic Diagnosis is that ASML could save cost by combining knowledge of ‘all’ YieldStar engineers into governed rule sets and with them gain a lot of time in diagnosing systems.
The idea is to distribute this gained knowledge to the systems in the field and hence provide better diagnosis without having to change the software of those specific machines.
You will be part of the agile rituals and gain a good insight in our way of working in R&D.
Your Assignment
The proposed assignment can be roughly divided into the following parts:
Create an abstraction (of the YieldStar machine) to simplify and focus on the added value of Heuristic Diagnosis Design and implement Heuristic Diagnosis Create a method for updating the (versioned) heuristic rule sets Design and implement testability for the abstraction, the Heuristic Diagnosis and the rule setsThis internship offers both technical and organizational challenges and will give the intern a very thorough view of how YieldStar products are created and how the R&D around it is organized.
Your Profile
To be a perfect match for this internship you:
Are a bachelor student in Computer Science and other related fields. Any level of knowledge of C#/Object Orientation is preferred. Able to work in a team, structured minded, complimented with can-do attitude. Fluent in English both verbally and in written.Other requirements you need to meet:
You are available for 5 days/ week, and for a minimum duration of 6 months, starting date in September 2024; You are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship; You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, please include in your CV/motivation letter willingness to relocate.
