We are looking for a professional who makes a difference because it’s in your nature to understand the multinational business of ASML and to translate that into effective and efficient risk management and cash centralization strategies, financing solutions and secure treasury related compliance.

Especially in the fast growing and demanding semiconductor business in which we operate, it requires Treasury to bring breakthrough and creative solutions and go beyond the established paths enabling ASML’s future growth and success.
Treasury is a part of the Expert Advisory team which includes the expertise areas of treasury, tax, legal and accounting. These disciplines are closely working together to support the business with integrated expertise and advice.
As Senior Manager Treasury, you and your team will have a global scope. Many ASML corporate projects and prioritized initiatives, as well as governance bodies are run out of the HQ, which is located in Veldhoven, the Netherlands,. Primary responsibility for such projects and initiatives and alignment with governance bodies will be in your scope. It could encompass a large variety of initiatives from starting a business in a new country to changing the way we deliver our machines to the customers. In this journey you will be supported by your direct colleagues in the global Corporate Cash and Financial Risk Management (CC & FRM) team with the members located in the Netherlands, Korea, China and the US. You will also work closely with Corporate Finance and Insurance, who are also a part of the global Treasury organization, as well as the broader Expert Advisory team. You will report to the Treasury Director CC & FRM located in the Netherlands.
Context of the position:
The Treasury CC & FRM team provides expertise and advisory on cash, liquidity, in-house banking, investments, intercompany and 3rd party financing and financial risk management (FX, financial counterparty and customer credit risk, interest and commodity risk), supporting the CFO/EVP Finance, other Finance functions (Financial Control, Business Control, Tax) and business functions, like Procurement and Sales. The team owns the day-to-day management of all cash, investments, inter-company funding and financial risks for the group.
The CC & FRM team operates in a business environment that is characterized by ongoing and fast change in many areas, such as:
(Adjacent) internal processes and systems; Application of emerging technologies in Treasury such as banking and dealing systems; Interlinkages between the various systems (API’s); Increasing need for real time info on exposures with automated processing (e.g. end-to-end automation, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence); Increasing demand for flexible and real time dashboard reporting (business intelligence tooling), (central) banking requirements and financial markets, local laws and regulations.Keeping up with the fast-changing developments, strong growth of the company (in terms of sales, people, complexity, etc.) and adjusting the organization (people, processes and systems) accordingly is essential for success of the Treasury function.
In order to assure cash, investment and financial risk management in a compliant way, understanding and application of local laws and regulations related to the Treasury activities within the ASML group is essential.
The CC & FRM team is supported by the global ASML Business Services organization, which executes operational and back office related activities.
The Senior Manager Treasury with his/her team is a part of CC & FRM team, together with the global front office and regional Treasury teams in APAC countries and the US.
Role and responsibilities
The Senior Manager Treasury is primarily responsible for:
1. Managing the financing of ASML Group’s subsidiaries worldwide to effectively operate their business and support strategic growth projects. This includes development of policies and frameworks, implementation of best-in-class solutions and oversight.
2. Safeguard compliance with applicable global Treasury laws and regulations including development of risk mitigation strategies and control thereof.
3. Provide integrated Treasury advice in complex transactions and projects within Expert Advisory (EA), finance and business domain.
These responsibilities translate into the following activities:
1. Develop and maintain the worldwide intercompany (IC) Financing Policy and framework in close collaboration with the Tax department to ensure sufficient liquidity for the ASML Group’s subsidiaries to operate their business and support strategic growth projects and to ensure that their capital structure is in accordance with local Treasury and Tax laws & regulation and transfer pricing principles. Educate and lead regional treasury managers and experts to ensure proper execution of the IC Financing Policy.
2. Provide integrated Treasury advice and expertise to relevant decision and governance boards. Align relevant proposals with the Treasury subject matter experts to ensure that the Treasury requirements are addressed and proposals are embedded in Treasury processes; coordinate proposals submitted by Treasury to ensure cross functional alignment and execution.
3. Provide integrated Treasury advice and requirements in EA projects, larger-scale Finance projects and Strategic Business initiatives in close alignment with the Treasury subject matter experts. Represent Treasury in project steerco’s and core team meetings.
4. Develop and maintain the Corporate Treasury compliance program; safeguard compliance with applicable Treasury laws and regulations; create awareness, educate and challenge the business to safeguard Treasury compliant business processes.
5. Contribute to defining the Treasury project portfolio and budget process; arrange necessary internal approvals and allocate Treasury resources.
6. Manage a team of currently 3 individuals, including 1 intern. Set KPIs and targets and monitor team’s performance. Coach and mentor the team members and ensure performance, commitment and development.
Education and experience
Master degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related area At least 10 years demonstrable relevant experience RT, ACT or other acknowledged Treasury certification is preferred In depth knowledge of Treasury and Treasury technological solutions In depth knowledge of E2E processes related to Treasury Extensive knowledge of Treasury relevant laws and regulations applicable to the industry and ASML, its products, services and markets, clients and processes Good knowledge of and experience with relevant accounting, legal and tax aspects Experience with various business models, tax models and logistical models, including related intercompany flows International experience is preferred Experience in effectively collaborating in a multi-cultural team working in different locations and time zones globally People management, development and coaching experienceSkills
Highest level of ethics, loyalty and personal integrity Strong drive with a hands-on, structured, accurate and result oriented working style Team player with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders globally, also in other functional areas Excellent communication skills.
