Within a new team of highly talented engineers you will find yourself researching and defining the Electric and Internal Combustion Engine powertrains for all of PACCAR’s world-wide vehicle divisions. This position will take a global approach and requires collaboration within a diverse cross-functional and multicultural team. PACCAR is eager to advance their product line of internal combustion and zero emissions powertrains and this is a chance to take a lead role in defining that plan. You will be a key part of ensuring PACCAR products not only meet the needs of customers but also those of the climate change targets.

This position is located at PACCAR’s DAF office in Eindhoven. 

Responsibilities

Responsible for the performance of the powertrain thermal domain for the electric, H2 and diesel powertrains. To make sure each component is operated within temperature limits to ensure optimal performance & lifetime. Definition team lead to coordinate the thermal domain with all relevant stakeholders Vehicle Divisions, System Owners, etc); Collect, understand and align the powertrain thermal targets and requirements to support engineering division; Research and Develop thermal impact and/or influence on peak/nominal power, heat-rejection, alignment with vehicle thermal stakeholders; Provide input and feedback to overall powertrain control development to ensure maximum performance can be achieved within component limitations. Develop and Integrate the thermal HW concepts and SW Controls; Define, document, support and monitor the powertrain requirements to assist the powertrain hardware and software engineering development; Present the concept proposals and/or status in management meetings.

Your profile

MSc degree in a relevant area such as Automotive, Mechanical or Applied Physics Engineering; 10+ years of experience primarily within the thermal domain; Excellent knowledge on; Powertrain Domain; V-cycle definition and testing process. Pro-active attitude and perseverance; Excellent Cooperation and communication skills in English including management presentation skills; Ability to perform in a fast-pace, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities.
