Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Centre for Comparative Medicine Research (Ref.: 524308) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; an interest in laboratory animal science and technology; and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development in the field. Experience in animal husbandry, operation and maintenance of equipment for sanitation and sterilisation (e.g. autoclave), or inventory/record keeping will be an advantage but not essential. Those with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer.
The appointee will work in a team to undertake technical and staff supervision/management duties in connection with the operation of a laboratory animal facility.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on a fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
